
Hermit is kinetic device. Servo motors on both side of the frame are for driving the shell to close or open. The shell is similar to the roof which can be opened as mechanical structure. From the side view, the semicircular shape is divided into 7 sections. Each section is a sector, and the central angle of it is around 26 degrees. From the front view, the frame includes 8 pieces of semicircular frames. All the semicircular frames have different size. The biggest (heaviest) one is connected to the Servo motors, drives the whole structure (orange highlight part). The backbone (blue highlight part) is for keeping the sectors, leaves specific distance between each semicircular frame.
